Well, today was pretty uneventful. I was lucky enough to have Ally sleep most of the night, although she did toss and turn and kick. She also sucks her thumb very noisily, otherwise it was a fairly peaceful night. We got up and had breakfast, and again she ate more than I did. She loved the eggs and the bacon, but wasn’t too keen on the hash browns.
Helen met us at the hotel and we did paperwork, and then the day was free. I had the driver take us to the childrens store so I could find her a swimming suit, and picked up a couple of things, then returned to the hotel. We stopped at the McDonalds on the way back to the hotel and Ally had her first taste of McDonalds. It took her some time to figure out the straw but once she had it then everything went well. She ate half the hamburger and the fries and was thrilled to find that she got a toy with the meal. She held on to that duck the rest of the trip.
When I returned to the hotel, I took her down to the pool to swim, only to find that children under 12 were only allowed to swim until 3:00, but luckily the guy manning the counter felt pity and allowed her to go into the pool. It only lasted for about 15 minutes and she was scared so I took her back out, but I think that was a good start.
Well, we don’t have to meet the coordinator until 11:30 tomorrow so I am going to have a relaxing dinner and try to get Ally to sleep in. We have doctors appointments and pick up passports tomorrow. Hopefully everything will go well tomorrow and then Monday. Ally has developed a really bad cough that sounds terrible, very congested. I have been giving her medicine, hopefully it will break. Again, we will see.
